Atomic Habits by James Clear
I'd been putting off getting this book for years as I assumed it was another of those books that were an interesting blog post that got popular, so the author turned it into a book for profit. There's so many of these around now, what was an insightful blog article gets painfully stretched out into a couple of hundred pages, which results in one hundred and fifty pages of filler.
I was totally surprised though, this book is rammed full of useful and actionable info and has changed the way I think about my good and bad habits and also how I approach my work. Reading this book has made me better in a number of ways.
Stuff I've spotted or bought but haven't read yet
- Confessions of an English Opium-Eater by Thomas De Quincey
- Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave by Frederick Douglass
- Goodbye to All That by Robert Graves
- Dispatches by Michael Herr
- We Wish to Inform You that Tomorrow We Will Be Killed with Our Families By Philip Gourevitch
- The Man Who Mistook His Wife For a Hat By Oliver Sacks
